If your company bills time to clients or jobs, the NetSuite Suite of products eliminates frustrating and inefficient administrative chores so that you can focus on delivering top-notch services. And because our Suite is Web-based, these tools are available to you and your employees no matter where work takes you.

In our Suite, you can create jobs and link them to specific customers. You can even create subjobs of a larger job. All these job records track start dates, estimated end dates, percentage complete and actual end dates as well as all income and expenses associated with each job.

As employees work on a job, they enter the time they are spending in time records. With our timer feature, employees can clock themselves in and out to accurately record how much time they are spending on each task. Also, expense reports for travel, lodging and meals can be associated with the job that the expenses were incurred for. These time records and expense reports can be entered right from the client's office or from the employee's hotel room — or from any computer connected to the Internet.

Employees' expense reports can be routed online to their managers for approval before they proceed to the accounting department. Once approved, expense reports are automatically turned into reimbursement checks for the employee.

To learn more about expense reporting, see our Employee Management and Payroll overview.

Billable time and expenses are ready for your accountant to select from a customer record whenever preparing an invoice. No data re-entry is necessary. These invoices can be printed and mailed to your clients, or they can view their invoices and make payments online in the NetSuite Suite of products' Customer Center. Credit card payments can be automatically deposited to your bank account, or you can hold them with checks and cash in an undeposited funds account until you send them to your bank.

For jobs that occur over a long period of time, progress invoicing is possible. Progress billing lets you bill your customers on a regular basis for completed work before the entire job is finished so you can improve your cash flow.

As a manager, you have a clear view of job progress and financial results. You can see how many jobs you currently have open. Also, you can look at each job and see its percentage completion, how many hours were billed, and its revenue, cost and profit margins to date. You can also create snapshots to show on your Executive Dashboard, the page you see when you first you log in. What's more, you can have all the information from your Dashboard e-mailed to you throughout the day so you always have the information you need, wherever you are.
