To
protect data from physical access, the data center employs 24-hour
biometric admittance to keep anyone from entering without full security
clearance.

Web-based security, the system configuration employs these measures

Firewalls block all attempts to access the data center other than
from methods and points that they allow.

When you or your employees access the Suite, your login with the
unique ID and password that NetSuite requires starts a connection
where all data is passed back and forth encrypted.

The system is divided into layers that separate data from the
application. Everyone who logs in only has access to the application
layer so no one can access your data to maliciously alter it.

Every user is assigned a specific role with specific permissions
to only see and use the features related to their own jobs. The
system also detects if your connection is idle and automatically
disconnects to prevent someone else from sitting at your computer
and using your access. Also, if anyone tries to access the application
by guessing at a person's ID and password, the account will be
locked out after 3 attempts.

NetSuite employs multiple safeguards to neutralize any viral
threat.
As
an added security measure, their IT team regularly backs up your
data and stores the backups in a separate, secure location more
than 100 hundred miles away from the data center. In the event of
a major natural disaster, we can restore your data within days.

Performance
levels are addressed from a standpoint of both uptime and system
speed. Our data center configuration uses a three-tier architecture
that separates the data delivery layer, the application layer and
the database layer.
Each
layer uses multiple servers, and employs fault-tolerant session
failover. In other words, if one server fails, your connection is
seamlessly handed over to another server, and you can continue to
do your work without even noticing a change. Also in place is fully
redundant hardware systems including an independent power supply.

with a direct dial-in line to their data center on a short-term
basis.
In
addition to its ensuring uptime, the data center configuration is
also pivotal in ensuring the best system speed. Because the architecture
allows connections to be shifted among machines, they use load-balancing
techniques to make certain that the least busy server handles the
next connection and that you get the best speed. The data center
is also connected to the three major Internet backbone providers
so they can direct the connection between you and the Suite toward
the fastest route. The Suite pages have also been optimized for
low bandwidth to reduce the amount of unnecessary data transmission
so you can increase speed.
While
20% of NetSuite's users do access the Suite through a dial-up connection,
we recommend a DSL, or better, broadband connection. Using a higher
