Marketing Automation is available with NetCRM and NetSuite only.

Ever wish you could streamline your demand generation activities or wish you knew your customers' purchase history and buying patterns so you could market more effectively to them? With NetSuite applications, your company can run targeted marketing campaigns to drive demand and you have complete tracking capability to clearly see what worked and what didn't.

Lead Tracking
Leads can be created in NetSuite applications using several methods:
  • Online: When a visitor to your Web site fills out an online form, the information gathered can be captured in a lead record. To find out more about online forms, see our Web Site overview. To find out more about online forms, see our Web Site overview.
  • Lists: You can import leads from existing lists. NetSuite's import feature accepts most common file formats.
  • Sales people: Leads generated through cold calling or other methods can be created by the sales reps themselves.

Once you've captured leads in NetSuite, you can group them by product interest, the source of the lead, area code, zip code or other criteria.

Marketing Campaigns
NetSuite's Campaign Management tool lets you create marketing campaigns specifically targeted at each group in your contact database. You can define campaigns as a single event, like sending an e-mail. Or, you can define campaigns as a series of events-a fax followed by an e-mail and a phone call, for example.

For e-mail campaigns, NetSuite's Campaign Management Tool allows you to create HTML newsletters or promotional messages using templates. You can also personalize the e-mail so that it addresses the leads by first name and last name, or other information.

To track the campaign's results, you can create a promotion code. Promotion codes can be applied for limited-time pricing discounts, special referral offers, or simply to identify a particular marketing campaign.

If you offer any discount pricing as part of the campaign, the promotion code ensures that customers will get the same price whether they purchase online, over the phone or via a sales rep.

Once the campaign is launched, leads can respond to the campaign by clicking a Web link, calling on the phone or contacting one of your selling partners. Since every lead is uniquely identified within the NetSuite database, their purchases are automatically linked to their individual customer record.

As a result, you have a complete order history for your customers — something not possible with other applications. You can then group customers based on this information, using criteria such as product purchased, date of purchase, warranty or contract expiration date or customer service history. This helps you cross-sell or up-sell other products to existing customers.

Reporting
As a manager, you can build reports showing how many of the targeted leads made purchases, as well as how much they spent. By entering the cost of running the campaign, you can also track cost-of-acquisition statistics and your overall campaign ROI.

With NetSuite applications, your data is always current, so you can run daily and even hourly progress reports from the time you launch the campaign. You can even set up specific metrics as snapshots on your Executive Dashboard that you see each time you log in.

Partner Management
If you use partners to promote and sell your products, you can also associate campaigns to partners via promotion codes to better manage partner agreements. For example, if you have agreed to spend marketing co-op dollars on an activity with a partner, you can sub-segment the resulting leads with a campaign promotion code to measure the success of that promotional activity.

You can then view reports on each of your direct sales and partner channels, allowing you to evaluate them and determine the best strategy for improving sales.

Conclusion
The integrated nature of NetSuite applications combined with powerful marketing automation features will allow you to accurately target and measure the performance of your marketing efforts so that you can clearly identify marketing tactics that are effective in increasing your company sales. NetSuite marketing automation takes the "effort" out of "marketing efforts".
